Commented on: Spanking Kids Becomes Illegal in Canada?

The Canadian Supreme Court Ruling of a couple of years ago placed a number of restrictions on the rights of parents to spank children: only between the ages of 2 and 12, never with anything but the hand, and in a manner that would be viewed as trifling and transient, ie. no bruising and not excessive. Handicapped children cannot be spanked. I think the present restrictions, given the attitude of most people about spanking, will be viewed as appropriate and reasonable and that there is no need to change the law or ban spanking children outright.
