For the safety of not just Palin's son, but more importantly, to the troops in Iraq, I believe the military would re-assign him to some other posts. Therefore, I don't think he will be kidnapped, wounded, or killed.

Commented on:   128GB USB Flash on the shelf?
I know retail stores are phasing out the 1GB and 2GB flash drives these days, but even something like an 8GB drive is still costing quite a bit, and the 16GB drives are costing a fortune. I don't see a 128GB coming out too soon - even if the technology is there, I think companies will try to milk the cow for a bit first.

Pardon my ignorance, but I have a question: does Toshiba currently own any of the flash memory companies? Why would Samsung be able to damage Toshiba by acquiring SanDisk?

Since I think the Conservatives will win close to 160 seats, the 33 seats I predict them gaining must come from somewhere. I think about half of that would come from the Liberals, taking them down to about 80 seats. The others will be lost by the Bloc and the NDP, who I think will actually suffer a lot more worse in the popular vote this time around.

A recent poll shows that the Conservatives are pulling away from the Bloc in the province of Quebec. This is extremely significant, because Quebec holds 75 of the seats in the parliament, second only to Ontario's 106. If this support holds up, then the conservatives can easily gain 15 - 20 seats. Together with a gain in Ontario (Conservatives have 41 versus the Liberals' 51 right now), I think they can push themselves to a very weak majority government. My early prediction has them winning around 160 seats.

Since an early exit in Wimbledon, Sharapova has been hurt. She missed both the Olympics and the US Open. Sadly for Sharapova fans, she did not win another more grand slams after the Aussie.

Sharapova withdrew from the uS Open, thus had no way of winning another grand slam in 2008.

Ronald Regan was an actor, and he was a fine president for the US. Arnold Schwarzenegger was a body builder (and alleged steroids user), and he is doing a fair job as the governor of California. I don't see any logic in using Palin's past involvement in the entertainment industry to discredit her. If she is incompetent, criticize her for that; but why question her ability just because she entered several beauty contests?

What about Chad Johnson? Probably not going to get the most yards... but he'll be up there... Joseph Adai would be good as well. From this list, I think I'll go with Randy Moss.

Of all these answers here, GM Dave Nonis' firing definitely happened. There were no deals made that involve more than 5 players... Sadly, no significant free agent signing either...

According the information from Sportsnet.ca, the Canadian teams have signed or re-signed the following number of free agents:

    Calgary: 8; Edmonton: 4; Montreal: 8; Ottawa: 6; Toronto: 5; Vancouver: 9

This does include the signings of some two-way contracts for players who play at the NHL and AHL level. For players who have been career minor-leaguers, I did not include them.

Chrome has won over 1% of the market share on its release day, so I think it has some potential... This said, IE's status is almost impossible to topple, and FF is still going strong (although I don't think FF3 is a big improvement over the FF2.x), so I think Chrome will be behind those two giants...

The Canucks have announced that they will hold a special ceremony on Dec 17 when the Canucks play the Edmonton Oilers. During the game, they will officially retire Trevor Linden's #16, making him the second player to have his number (the other is Stan Smyl, #12) officially retired. (the late Wayne Maki's #11 is no longer used, but is not officially retired)
