The Flames lost two games to the Canucks, and looked ordinary in the process... Mike Kennan has to have some tricks up his sleeve... no way he would let the Flames start 0-3.

The Dodgers should take one back to force the series back to Philadelphia, but I have a feeling their season is coming to an end soon after that.

After being humiliated, the Red Sox will bounce back and win game 4. Sadly for the Bo-Sox nation, I think this will be the last win the Red Sox will have in the 08 year. Rays will win the next two games to take the series in six.

No doubt the Phillies are, on paper, a better team. Don't forget that before Man-Ram arrives, Dodgers are but a team barely hovering around .500, and may well not make the playoffs altogether. So there is no doubt that the Phillies are much more talented than the Dodgers. They also have the best bullpen in the NL, something that few people are willing to point out.

I want to see the Dodgers win just because of the act that Man-Ram can pull off, but after 4 games, it seems like the Phillies are more deserving.

The Redskins laid an egg against the Rams, but I don't think they will be foolish two weeks in a row.

I think only a leader who is expected to "win" (be that the actual election, or gain a certain number of seats) but fail to live up to that expectation would face serious pressure to resign. That eliminates all the leaders except Harper and Dion. I personally feel Harper can still win a majority (though it will be a very slim one, if even that), so the pressure is on Dion.

Many Liberals did not like Dion to begin with, and his leadership was questionable during the last Harper mandate, so if the Liberals cannot win (which I don't think they will), or worse yet, lose to the Conservatives in Quebec, there will be immense pressure for Dion to step down.

I beg to differ. Even though the current economic crisis has done a lot of damages to McCain, and Palin's less-than-spectacular performance since her nomination does not help, I have a feeling that Obama's ethnicity may still prevent him from becoming the president. Sadly but truly, there are still many Americans who would rather not have a woman nor a visible minority to become their "head dog." And this deep-rooted racism/sexism or whatever prejudice as you may call it, would not be reflected in a poll, but would certainly show up in the voting booth.

I think Obama does have an edge due to the economic crisis, but I would not be at all surprised if McCain wins.

On one hand, I don't see the Flames losing a home-and-home against a divisional rival while playing at home... but, on the other hand, how would the Canucks not win when they totally demolished the Flames like that in the season opener?

Commented on:   US Arms Sale to Taiwan
I think the US will just go ahead with the sale... the sale of arms and weapons have long been one of the biggest "industries" of the States, and China, historically, is more talk than walk. I think China has some clout this time around with it giving a hand to the credit crunch, but that could only result in a lower-profile, less publicized, sale.

No way the Als lose two in a row to the Ti-cats. Montreal blows out Hamilton this week.

Pujols' numbers are incredible, but at the same time, should not a MVP award be given to a player that has impacted his team the most? The Cardinals did not factor in the playoff race. Even with his numbers, the Cards were not even a serious threat in making the playoffs... other players like Utley, Bruan, and of course, Man-Ram, have done more for their respective teams in bringing them wins.

How about Manny Ramirez? I highly doubt he will win the MVP award, but the only reason why he won't win is because he has only played for two months for the Dodgers. But the transformation the Dodgers have taken is nothing short of remarkable. And Man-Ram is the first player in a long time who gets 50 RBIs in both the AL and the NL. He totally transformed the spirit of the Dodgers... he is my ML MVP (though he won't win it).

I didn't know Ellsbury is still a rookie... but no matter... I think Longoria is hands-down the AL rookie of the year.

The Rays are FEARLESS, but the Red Sox are the defending champs, so this is a tough one... I think the Rays' cinderella story will eventually end, but I think there is just one more chapter to write right now... the pitching staff of the Red Sox is not right, and that would give the Rays the edge.

Man-Ram is playing lights-out baseball, and his attitude is rubbing off to the young players on the team. They are the underdogs in a series against a team that plays hard (unlike the Cubs, who have just folded under pressure), but if they are anything like Man-Ram, they'd be fearless... I give the Dodgers a slight edge.
