You see, I already bought a new laptop, and based on overall price and features, the Vista one was the best option. (We don't have much access to the Linux laptops here in Australia - though we do have some local companies that build linux desktops.)
Didn't stop me from immediately installing Linux on it though. *grins* Didn't even boot up into Vista.

Hm. Not very likely to go to 100% ads. Just sounds like Yahoo is trying to pressure Microsoft.

Oh ruddy hell. Got the slider bars around the wrong way.

I tend to use mobile phones purely as an emergency contact method while travelling. Since my current phone is working fine, I won't be buying one this year.
However, I will be STRONGLY considering an Android phone in about 3-4 years from now, depending purely on cost and plan.

Let's look at the pros and cons:
Android:
Has a fair number of people behind it.
Has GOOGLE behind it for crying out loud.
Free AND Open -> more users and more software.
Symbian:
Main name of fame is Nokia, who sound to me like they're chucking a hissy-fit.
Currently not free -> takes at least a year to free up a software.

Hmm. Just wish I'd found this prediction earlier. Any chance of reopening it until the end of the year. :)
