Ballmer just announced MSFT is done pursuing the Yahoo deal. Yahoo stock will fall in the short term. The market won't react to this well.

Just checked out Knol. It is very nice. And most articles are of very high quality. In fact it is closer to traditional encyclopedia articles compared to wikipedia. However, I am not how Knol will handle two articles by two different authors on the same subject. Are they going to favor one over the other based on author's popularity?

If I am the reader, I probably don't want to read two articles about the same subject twice.

Always a depressing subject. I say it remains stable.

I find OpenID a bit difficult to use. First, the user name is long, second, I have to manage my account on another OpenID server. I guess it will be worth the effort if most of the sites use OpenID.

Maybe ZiiTrend can use it some day.

Commented on:   Canon G10 with CMOS sensor
Here is some interesting discussion about CMOS in G10:
    http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/rea...

I agree that it makes little sense to sacrifice the DSLR sales by making G10 too powerful.

Hancock is my second choice too. Maybe I will watch it next week. Otherwise, I will wait for the DVD release.

Just watched The Dark Knight. Overall, it is pretty good. Good story, good effects etc. But the movie feels a bit long. Maybe they can cut the 2.5 hour movie to 2 hours. That would be perfect.

And yes, I vote for the Dark Knight as the top summer movie in 2008.

Why do users want to watch videos with the tiny screen? That why I don't understand why users want to watch videos with iPhone either.

I wonder if CMOS is a proprietary technology by Canon? I heard the sensor produces superior images compared to CCD. But why did Canon not used the CMOS sensors in all it cameras in the last 10 years? beause of higher cost?

At least in Canada, there is almost no point to unlock the phone from Rogers or Fido. They are the same company, it is not like there is a good third choice carrier.

Yes, Bungie announced the next Halo game in development during E3 (although technically NOT at E3):
    http://news.digitaltrends.com/news-ar...

However, Microsoft somehow didn't give Bungie a booth to present the new game. They hinted a more dedicated event later. So, hopefully, it will be a big one.

T-Mobile is a better fit in this possible acquisition.

At least TechCrunch hinted about Google building its own cell phone:
    http://techblog.dallasnews.com/archiv...

I think Google will only use it as Plan B when Android doesn't gain the momentum it needs.

I wonder if TechCrunch manages to get more buyers other than AOL. That would put them in better position in asking for the $20-$30 mil price tag:

Agreed. Formally, the island is owned by Korea anyway. And I don't see Japan agreeing to that either.
