It doesn't make sense for Google to continue staying away from the Browser market. A popular browser will help Google fend off Microsoft and Yahoo for the search market, and generate more love for Google. A bad browser might hurt them, however.

Microsoft will be able to fairly easily copy and innovations that Firefox comes up with, and since IE comes bundled with Windows, there just won't be enough incentive for people to make the switch.
