We finally get HD-DVD out of the way. And Microsoft is dumping the XBox HD-DVD player by selling it half-price. Let's predict if Microsoft will provide the Blu-ray option for XBox 360 owners who want to have the HD experience. Alternatively Microsoft might support more downloadable movies with the XBox Live service.

My bad. I didn't realize Guru was referring to Blu-ray on Windows not Xbox360.

Thanks AhDrew000 for reporting the problem. According to http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/multimed..., Blu-ray is supported in Windows but not on Xbox yet.

The prediction is thus re-open and the score will be re-calculated.

I want to dispute this. MS has yet to officially announce blueray in Xbox. If you go to the source of the news, you will see no mention of Xbox with blueray. As far as I an concern A) that is not an announcement. It is a comment within the context of a speech.
    B) "He said Microsoft will work with the Blu-ray next-generation DVD format in some form following the demise of Toshiba's HD-DVD, which Microsoft previously supported. "We've already been working on, for example, in Windows, device driver support for Blu-ray drives and the like, and I think the world moves on. Toshiba has moved on. We've moved on, and we'll support Blu-ray in ways that make sense."
Ballmer's comment sound liek drive support in windows rather than an addon in Xbox.

I think it will happen eventually, but Q1 is too early... It wasn't too long ago since HD-DVD has officially throw in the towels...

Xbox goes blu, that's an interesting though. I bet Sony would charge Microsoft so much for the Blu-ray license, it won't be economical to have an add-on device.
