The Anaheim Ducks have just placed big, tough winger Todd Bertuzzi on un-restricted waivers, an indication that they would buy out his contract and let him loose to become an un-restricted free agent.
Bertuzzi had 14 goals and 26 assists in the 2007 - 2008 season with the Ducks after signing a two-year, 8-million-dollar contract. This, of course, is a far cry from his best days with the Vancouver Canucks, when he scored 46 goals and had 51 assists, becoming one of the premier power forwards of the game. Since that season (02 - 03), Bertuzzi has been hampered by injuries, as well as the infamous Steve Moore incident. At 33, the best playing days of Bertuzzi may be well behind him, but when motivated and healthy, there is still little that can move the 6-4 bulky forward. Do you think an NHL team will sign him before Aug 1, 2008?
