    How do we define a war as a world war? I suppose it has to affect more than 50% of the population of the world? Or as long as it involve most of the big nations?

    War yes, but not over oil specifically, but access to energy and water resources in general, with ideological differences thrown in for good measure.

    This sends a chill down my spine. I certain hope it won't happen. But there is still a chance considering that wars haven't actually stopped since WWII. It just didn't happen on US soil.

    We have enjoyed peace since the end of WWII in, 1945. We are taking peace for granted. There are several possible trigger of WWIII that we have to aware of
    - increase global population
    - increasingly uneven distribution of wealth
    - food supply doesn't catch up with population growth
    - fossil fuel supply not catching up, and lack of economical substitute.

    These can all lead to wars.
