According to the news, Microsoft will stop selling Windows XP in a week time from most retail outlet and OEM. It means it becomes harder and more expensive to downgrade your computer from Vista to XP.

    You see, I already bought a new laptop, and based on overall price and features, the Vista one was the best option. (We don't have much access to the Linux laptops here in Australia - though we do have some local companies that build linux desktops.)
    Didn't stop me from immediately installing Linux on it though. *grins* Didn't even boot up into Vista.

    I don't mind getting Vista with my new PC. How bad can it be? I heard about the blue screen of death, I also heard about lower performance compared to XP. But there are also features that I want.

    Vista has a lot of bugs, and it doesn't seem like the bugs have been fixed yet. If Q3 is the time-frame, then I would still prefer a computer with XP.

    I think it is time to move on and use Vista. If it is slow, I will just buy more RAM and faster CPU. We cannot forever stick with some old OS, if it is more expensive to downgrade.
