Will You Avoid Beef in 2008?

Jun 23, 2008 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has confirmed the 13th case of mad cow disease in Canada, but the agency says the case poses no risk to human or animal health. Dr. George Luterbach, a senior veterinarian with CFIA, said Monday the disease was found in a cow that died on a farm in western British Columbia. However, the exact farm where the animal was from has not been determined. "At this point in time we're in the early stages of the investigation," said Luterbach. "We have no other suspect animals."

On the other side of the world, Korea and Japan are still struggling to ban beef import from US.

Will you avoid eating beef this year?

I'm in Australia, and I was raised on a mixed dairy/beef farm. Whatdyathink?
I also find the current Mad Cow situation a prime example of Mad Human Syndrome. What sort of corporate whacko thinks it's a good idea to feed a herbivore meat?
As to the people out there who decry that meat causes global warming, I'd like to point out that it's grain-fed meat that is the problem. If people could taste grass-fed veal and fresh milk, they'd be in an uproar over what food companies do to it before it gets to the shops.

Heh! I guess this question doesn't mean much to someone who hasn't had beef in 21 years!

Avoid eating beef?! You kidding me? I practically live on beef products. One mad cow doesn't mean a thing to me. Show me half and dozen, then I will temporarily switch to pork.
