Will Yahoo face a hostile takeover before the end of May 9 (Fri), 2008?

"No news isn't always good news. Four days have passed since the expiration of Microsoft's deadline for Yahoo to accept its buyout offer or face a hostile takeover."

It makes me wonder if Yahoo will really face a hostile takeover before the end of May 9 (Fri), 2008. As long as any third party acquire enough share to be the majority Yahoo share holder, we will consider the answer as YES.

I have no idea what Yahoo is doing?! $31 per share is a reasonable price.

I believe that May 9th will come and go, meanwhile I believe that Microsoft may be buying up Yahoo options, if they are truly going to go after yahoo in a big way. The option listing for May shows 149 thousand call options at 30.dollars, and could be a move to dilute the shareholders and still keep within the original offer. I think Microsoft doesn't want the bad publicity of a hostile takeover, and the possibility of losing good employees, and is posturing themselves with the proposed new slate for the board. Microsoft will make some concessions if they can get a friendly deal done in short order, but if Yahoo persists, and holds firm I think Ballmer will take a walk.

A hostile take-over is getting more likely now.

hmm ... i think MS is ready to walk out - but the entire process actually helped Google to destroy its already-weak enemy.

I am surprised about the lack of news after the Microsoft offer deadline. Hm... I wonder what is really happening now.
