What is ZiiTrend?
Will US troop reduction in Iraq happen in 2008?
Wallace ( Score Rank: #102 based on predictions in the last 30 days ) Wallace  |  will close on 01-Jan-2009 (29 days from now)
According to the news, the Bush administration might keep the troop level steady in 2008. A few months ago, Bush promised us a troop reduction from Iraq this summer. It seems it might not happen:

And he will probably leave any decision of troop reduction to the next president.

Let's predict if Bush will keep his promise and reduce the troop level in Iraq in 2008.

Troop reduction is getting less likely after Bush's speech. And all these evidence indicates US & UK will try NOT to reduce troop level this year:

4010 US soldiers died in Iraq... that is going to put pressure on Bush NOT to reduce the troop. The Bush administration needs the soldiers to be there.

From what I have heard, the current level of deployment is around 140,000. The commander in Iraq is "advising" Bush to not pull any troops back at least until the legislative election of Iraq in October, and that the number of troops when Bush leaves office in January should be around 130,000. I don't know if that qualifies as a reduction in troops...

I will consider that a reduction, although not much. At least Bush won't be called a liar again, if does exactly that.

This is not the first time Bush lies. So, I am not surprised he will do it again and again before the end of his presidency.
