What is ZiiTrend?
Will US Federal Reserve change its interest rate (of 2.25%) on Apr 29, 2008?
Homer ( Score Rank: #27 based on predictions in the last 30 days ) Homer  |  was scored on 30-Apr-2008 (215 days ago)
In March the Federal Reserve reduced its benchmark interest rate by three-quarters of a percentage point on Tuesday, to 2.25 percent, a cut that was less than investors had been hoping for even though it was one of the deepest in Fed history. That definitely ease the recession a bit. The next Fed meeting is Apr 29, 2008. Will US Federal Reserve continue to lower the interest rate this time?

Fed trims rates by quarter point to 2%.

The Federal Reserve chose to cut short term interest rates on Wednesday for the fourth time this year, saying it remains troubled by the economic outlook, but signaling that it now may leave rates steady for a while.

I believe the Fed will hold interest rates at 2.25 % for this term, and observe the results, hoping that the last decrease was sufficient to slow the market downturn and sucker investors back into the market. The Dow has been doing a dance of 1000 points, up/down for the past 4 months while they manipulate the money supply, the oil flow & price and the usual hype, to take the pressure off the banks and the unmanagable derivatives market that could totally sink the banks and the economy.

it's obvious recession. given the inflation is not too high, the fed will keep cutting the rate low.

Yes, continue to increase the supply of money. Print more, loan out, let the inflation go up. That's the plan.
