While the world's best athletes were showcasing their talents in first-rate facilities, Chinese security forces kept terrorism at bay. There was no attack on any Olympic venues. Good job !

The real question is will it be Muslims or the CIA posing as Muslims.

The chance is not low in other less-secure area, but surely no attack on Beijing or any Olympic events.

The chance is small, I think. Many of the terrorisms are not on the opposite of Chinese Government, excepte 'East Turkistan'.

"In an audacious and deadly attack just days ahead of the Beijing Olympics, two men from a mainly Muslim ethnic group rammed a truck and hurled explosives at jogging policemen in China's restive far west Monday, killing 16. The attack in a city near the Afghanistan-Pakistan border brought an immediate response from China's Olympic organizers, who pronounced security precautions ready to ensure safety in Beijing and other Olympic venues when the games open Friday."

Although the attack is not exactly in China, but it getting pretty close.

There is least possibility of terrorist attack for two plausible reasons. ETIM, the suspect in run does not have social sanctury for the pur[pose in the Game Zones nor they have capability. Much of what has come to be known falls in the category of intelligent guess, if not a tactical ploy.

Seems like China is receiving a lot of pressure from Western media in terms of human rights, terrorism, and pollution. I am not sure the risk is as high as the media portrays.

The probability of a direct & effective attack remains quite low. Security would be tight, but not 100% infallible.

The chance remains low. Although a previously little known group calling itself the Turkestan Islamic Party claims it carried out several fatal bombings in the country in recent months, the group is believed to be very weak. Its recent activities aim for self-promotion.

For the safety of athletes and tourists, China is doing everything it can, including deployment of unarmed drones patrolling the sky, and surface to air missiles etc.

So, if you dare to declare anything that remotely link you to terrorism, I am sure you will get questioned or even locked up. But then that's understandable. China cannot afford to get attacked during the games.

Get real! As black-shoulder said. Which terrorist group is going to attack China? I cannot imagine a group that would want to.

Plus if they did, do you think china would mess around. As humme, landlady and Wallace, security will be tight.

I think that if a group dare crash China’s Olympic party, the retribution would be huge and I bet all terrorist groups know that.

    Ain’t gonna happen.

We're not in the "age of terrorism", we're in the "age of fear from terrorism".

I can't think of any terrorist group that would be interested. Not in Beijing.

Demonstrations from different groups? Definitely. Terrorist attacks? Extremely unlikely.

You can like or dislike the Chinese communist government, but it actually has very good international relationships with almost all developing countries, including the nations that have a track record of endorsing or supporting groups such as Al-qaeda. So there will be political pressure to prevent them from making a scene in China.

China will do everything she can to lower the chance of any terrorist attack. It sucks if someone crash a party you put billions and billions of dollars in.

I am going to stick with 20% for now. The media talking about it doesn't make it more likely.
