    It's funny that US is much more conservative than Canada.

      Yes, compared to the US melting pot policy, Canada is a lot more liberal in terms of religion, language and culture. But being conservative isn't necessary a bad thing.

    Maybe not in 2009, but it can happen in 5 years. US has similar culture as Canada, and if it happens in Canada, it can happen in US. That's my argument.

    As far as social issues are concerned, the US is actually one of the more conservative countries in the western world (by conservative I am not saying it's good or bad). There will be tremendous political pressure to NOT allow this to happen. I don't think it will happen that quickly, but probably it is inevitable.

    surely it is a global trend for ever-increasing human right. the issue will be presented to the hose sooner or later. however, it is way too quick to pass the controversial law by 2009.
