The Semantic Web dream has been predicted for a while, but no current "killer apps" using ontologies/semantic web based on inter-linked meta-data exist. Therefore, we are still in an era of the syntactic Internet. This prediction is about when will the "intelligent web" (T. Berners-Lee) happen commercially viable.

    Excuse me for being dense, but how can this topic close in 2008 and be verifiable, when we maybe will not know the result until 2020? Or will it just sit here, closed, until someone verifies the result (whenever that may happen)?
