What is ZiiTrend?
Will the Monopoly World Edition game include a Canadian city?

One of the most famous board games in the world, monopoly, had a world-wide vote not too long ago to determine which 22 cities will appear in the "world edition" game that will be made in the not-so-distant future. Many Canadians have probably received an e-mail urging you to go and vote for a Canadian city, as the three major cities (Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal) were all near, but not at, the top 22 early this year. Do you think this final push was successful in bringing a Canadian city into this latest edition of monopoly?

Weird, just totally weird... Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver all got picked to appear in the new Monopoly World edition. China also won big by having Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong in it (some may count Taipei as a "Chinese" city too).

The weird thing is, the order of the deeds are not in any geographic pattern. The most expensive deeds, formerly Broadwalk and Park Road, are now Riga and Montreal...

perhaps the vendor knew that the people in Riga and Montreal are the big fans of this version.

Yup. Hasbro probably plans to sell this edition to Asia and Canada. For the US customers, they might just make another USA edition.

What about US cities? NYC and LA should be on the list. And so are Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore...

Just prior to the closing of the votes, I think the closest city is Toronto... but I doubt any of the Canadian cities will get on - we just simply don't have the population to vote our own cities in (I heard that there are countries that have set up booths on the street where citizens are helped to vote the cities of their own countries in - last time I check, the Canadian government did not do such a thing).

True. Canadian cities might be decent in land size. But the popularity density is nothing compared to other mega cities.

I am hoping Vancouver and Montreal will make it. 2 out of 22 cities. Not too much to ask for right?

It is hard to fit more than 1 Canadian city into the game.
