Veteran quarterback Brett Favre of the Green Bay Packers has asked the Packers to release him. Favre, who announced his retirement earlier, now is thinking about coming back to play. The Packers say they will not release him and now want him to play in a back-up role. Maybe he will even coach. Or he may stay retired from football altogether or he may sign with another club.
Will Favre stay with Green Bay in any football role this year, ie whether as starting QB, back-up QB, or as a coach? Or will he retire completely from a football role in the NFL, and stay retired all year, or will he play or be otherwise involved (e.g. as a coach) in a football role with another NFL club? Can we close this either if and when he plays or is dressed to play or actively coaches any NFL team during the regular season, or, if this doesn't happen, when the regular season ends?

Green Bay has said they are through with Favre... I don't think it's certain... but... surprisingly, Green Bay fans are not as welcoming as you'd think.
