Veteran quarterback Brett Favre of the New York Jets has been blamed for the Jets' late season demise, and has been reported to be injured. Favre, who announced his retirement from Green Bay last year, only to reverse his decision, is now in a similar position, is one year older, and may play again for the Jets next season, whether as a starter or as a back-up, may retire without playing another NFL game, or may even play for someone else again.
Will Favre stay with the Jets in any active football role in the 2009 season, ie whether as starting QB or back-up QB, even for one play in a regular season game? Or will he retire completely from football in the NFL, and this time stay retired all year, without playing at all, or will he play with another NFL club other than the Jets, even for one play.

I think Farve is done. He doesn't have the benefit of a loyal following standing behind him and removing some of the blame from his shoulders. It has to hurt that his new fanbase and even his new teammates are already turning on him (but this is New York, he should have expected this. And I can't feel too sympathetic considering the way he acted when he left Green Bay). Plus if he's injured, and he didn't tell his team... have to wonder, is this worth it? Is this worth playing for, risking your life and limb every week?
If he does go, it would be a shame, because it's obvious he can still play. If they put a better team around him, they could easily make a playoff run similar to the last one in Green Bay.
