Will Nikon D800 DSLR support 1080p video recording?
Homer ( Score Rank: User did not make predictions in the last 30 days ) Homer  |  closed on 30-Sep-2009 (52 days ago)
Canon recently released the DSLR 5D Mk2 which supports High Def. 1080p video recording. Some of you might think it is no big deal because most consumer level cameras support video anyway. But 1080p on a high quliaty CMOS sensor that is 3-4 times the size of a $10K video camcorder is a big deal. Also, the possibility of using all the high end Canon photo lenses will completely change the photography industry.

For a demo of the 5D Mk2 capability, check this out:

Okay, here is the prediction - Will Nikon follow its competition and include1080p video recording feature in their next full frame camera D800?

Here is the review of the current Nikon D700:

Why is 1080p video recording so important in DSLR anyways? I just don't get it.

I am sure Nikon will play catch up mid-2009.
