In the United States an unknown with no real identity and no background was elected due to massive commercials and foreign money...Obama became a president and has done all he can to keep his identity secret by spending about 2million dollars in lawyers fees and sending out the CIA and FBI to private people's home who are too loud in speaking against him...he has blackmailed news reporters and news stations that are voicing their opinion against him...he is forcing votes by coercing all other Democrats in the White House and bribes with American people's taxes...if ever there was a sign of a dictator this is it...Obama wants to institute citizen militia and he wants to stop American citizens from owning arms which is a right under the American Constitution...

In America, in order to finally get rid of the EvilBushies, we not only had to vote for Obama, we also had to make it clear that after two corrupt elections over the past 8 years, that if the EvilBushies didn't leave the White House on their own and Obama made president, there was going to be bloody civil war!! For 8 years the EvilBushies consolidated more and more power into their hands with things like the so-called Patriot Act, which basically said no one could stand against them, and endless unneeded wars and military buildup and the constant barrage of lies from foreign-owned Faux Noise and tapping everyones' phones without a court order and disappearing people in the middle of the night and giving the police more power and making the Supreme Court 2/3's Catholics and scare the voters into going along with all their corruption with their invented BoogeyMan Osama bin Laden, etc.

.... The USA is about 1/5 Republicans and 1/5 Democrats and 3/5 Independents... we don't 'call for' Presidential elections, they are held every 4 years no matter what... although it looked like the EvilBushies wanted to stop all elections and/or cheat in them and/or ignore the real results...

Italy is a memeber of the European Union... so it won´t risk an undemocratic singualrity within this economic network - which would exclude italy from the EU. But you´re right: after all berlusconi is a piece of junk...

I was in Italy a few weeks ago, and it was noticeable how there were political posters everywhere, and I was canvassed in the streets a few times aswell. None of the parties were for Berlusconi, but I know Italy's system is more coalition based than we have here in the UK. Now, compare this to the unpopularity of Gordon Brown in the UK, and recent expenses scandals, which I think divert us away from the real issues. Brown would love more dictatorial powers if he could get hold of them, but he doesn't even have the confidence to call an election he told us he'd win anyway. If we're supposed to be so keen in the UK for an election, and by implication a new government, where are the activists on the streets? I think Italians are clearly a lot more concerned about maintaining their democracy than we are.

I live in France, and the situation is quite similar as in Italy.
Dictatorial-like measures are coming up slowly (from the back) but clearly , and most people will only aware of it in a few years.
