Will HK's pro-democratic legistlators be allowed to enter China in 2008?

Recently, Liza Wang, a famous HK celebrity, suggests that the Chinese government grant pro-democratic legistlators a chance to visit the Beijing Olympics and to promote China-Hong Kong dialogue.

12 members of the elected legislature assembly currently have had their legal documents to enter mainland China removed or revoked. Do you think they would really be allowed back to visit China freely before the end of 2008?

i read the news a bit too. Chinese gov would allow only if the pro-democratic legistlators agree to NOT being 'extreme' ... well ... i doubt that both parties (Chinese gov and Pro-Demo) have the capacity to adjust their ideologies.

The fact that she is voicing out probably means that there are people in power suggesting that something should be done. The big push would be the days leading up to the Olympics - if things don't happen then, they won't happen after.

However, true to the Chinese government form, I don't think they will let everyone in. More likely than not they will select a few to grant special permission, and exclude those who they claim are anti-China (though they are actually pro-China, just against the one-party policy).
