Chinese cars have nothing wrong, and are technically ready to hit US market.
However, it will take a long time of certification of this product, and even longer for the public acceptance of a Chinese branded car.
I believe a made in China car might get before 2010, only if branded by GM, Ford or other accepted giant.

The US exports cars from nearly everywhere else, and I think we're severely underestimating the Chinese economy. Not sure if it will happen by 2010 (Can see some potential trade/political chicanery likely to occur from US car manufacturers) but it may happen by 2013.

Sales numbers may be slight but this is highly likely within five years.

    Of course...
Guys they are selling already here in Europe, of course no Hybrid cars, but normal cars, clones of the BMW X5 and the RAV4 from Toyota for a thrid of the price.
They will sell in the US within the next year.
