In Aiug, the former president admitted that his wife Wu Shu-Chen had wired abroad 20 million US dollars from his past campaign funds, saying she had done so without his knowledge. Yet Chen still denied money laundering. Chen is already under investigation for allegedly embezzling 14.8 million Taiwan dollars (480,500 US) in special expenses from the government while he was president, and his wife is on trial for corruption and document forgery in the same case.
Will he be sentenced for the scandal by Apr 2009?

By the way, I am fairly confident in saying that president Ma Ying-Jeou would probably use his presidential pardoning power to pardon Chen from doing any jail time even when he is convicted... but like I've said, I believe the whole legal process will take years to complete (probably close to the end of Ma's first mandate).
