Many of us have seen drivers on the road who drive too fast or too slow. While there are restrictions to new and young drivers, senior citizens are currently not stipulated with any restrictions when it comes to driving.
The chair person at the Insurance Board of Canada, however, warns that "creative solutions" are needed, as seniors over the age of 75 are substantially more prone to accidents. The problem, however, is a lot more complex than what it seems. Many senior citizens in rural areas will lose their mobility completely if they are not allowed to drive, while higher insurance targeted towards an age group can easily result in lawsuits. With this in mind, do you think there will be any new stipulations put forward against senior drivers by the end of 2008?
