Kobe Bryant won it, as I've mentioned... several times already.

Kobe Bryant has won the MVP award, and was presented with the trophy Wednesday (May 7) before the Lakers played Utah.

7 points per game, 4.3 rebounds per game, and started only 15 of the 45 games he has played? MVP? I don't think so.

For as many years as Kobe Bryant has been dominant in the NBA, he has NEVER won the MVP award. The MVP is traditionally given to a player who, if taken away, would turn a potential championship team into chumps. The Lakers are nothing without Kobe, but previously, they were not championship material. This year, they have a decent chance, and as long as the Lakers manage to finish above the Hornets in the standing, Kobe should win his first MVP hands-down.

West winner should determine MVP. I can go with either Kobe Bryant or Chris Paul and have done so repeatedly over the last few weeks on NBATV. Because I cannot make up my mind, I'm choosing whichever player takes his team higher in the Western Conference.
