What is ZiiTrend?
Who will be the next Canadian PM to win a majority government and when?
cougar222 ( Score Rank: #59 based on predictions in the last 30 days ) cougar222  |  will close on 31-Dec-2009 (495 days from now)
There may be a Canadian federal election in the next two years or so, and will someone win a majority government and who will it be? Will it occur within two years? If there is a minority government chosen in an election and then another election shortly thereafter where someone wins a majority government, e.g. if one of the present leaders steps down, who would that be and would it occur within two years?

With the minority government and recent economical boost, Stephen Harper demonstrated his effective leading style against the opposite parties. At the same time, all other parties struggle with lacking of leadership. For example, Dion is very incapable to be the opposite leader.

Frank McKenna, the former New Brunswick premier, and the current ambassador to the US as the next prime minister? He did not run in the 2006 leadership race to replace Paul Martin, and that was when his stocks were high. Now, many people, even the Liberals, do not remember who this guy is.

Dion lacks leadership qualities and won't be able to win a majority. NDP is naturally flawed in the sense that they could only be a strong opposition party, so Layton is out of the question. Harper is doing a more than decent job as the PM, and the "secret agenda" that the Liberals were using to scare Canadians for voting Conservatives never did come. If an election is going to occur, I think the conservatives will win a majority.
