Now that the regular season is over, let the playoff fever begin! In the Eastern Conference's first round series, you have the Montreal Canadiens (yes, they are #1 in the East) playing the Boston Bruins, the Pittsburgh Penguins playing the Ottawa Senators, the Washington Capitals playing the Philadelphia Flyers, and the New Jersey Devils playing the New York Rangers.

Which of these eight teams would emerge victorious to represent the Eastern Conference in the Stanley Cup finals? (prediction would end at the conclusion of the first round)

The Flyers are showing me something through the first round, and Montreal is showing signs that Carey Price can be beat... I think the Flyers can, and will, upset the Canadiens in round 2. I have been hating the Rangers since 94, so I'm rooting for the Pens to beat them, and beat them in convincing fashion.

Nice topic black-shoulder. I was about to ask Admin to create one. NHL is going to keep me entertained for the next little while.

Tough to say at this point... I think the #5 to #8 seeds are pretty average at best, so they probably can't go far. As long as Martin Brodeur is playing, you can't count out the Devils. Overckin is great, but are the Caps equally as good? The Penguins are amazing and are my favourite team from the East, but goaltending is a question mark. Carey Price seems to be great for the Canadiens, but a rookie goalie in the Stanley Cup playoffs... I'm not too sure. I may change my view drastically as the first round is played and he becomes the second coming of Patrick Roy.
