Veteran quarter-back Brett Favre, a legend of the Green Bay Packers, has asked the Packers to release him if they are not planning to let him come back to play for the Packers. Favre, who announced his retirement earlier in the year, now said he is "very seriously thinking about" coming back to play.

Because Green Bay has publicly said that young quarter back Aaron Rodgers is their quarter back of the future, and has no intention to bring Favre back.
