Apple Inc. has just unveiled its faster and cheaper iPhone, the iPhone 3G. According to reports, the 8GB version will sell for $199USD, while the 16GB version will go for $299USD.
This is a HUGE price drop considering that the original iPhone was released at $599, and even after the price drop, it was going at $399. The new iPhone 3G not only is a 3G phone (compared to the 2G version that was the original), it also has a GPS built into it. In short, it's a much better equipped gadget for cell phone honks. I know the iPhone has not even been released here in Canada, and so I won't even predict when the iPhone 3G will ever get here. So, this is just a casual prediction for you to consider, if and when the iPhone 3G ever gets to Canada, what do you think will be its initial suggested retail price? (we will make this prediction based on the 8GB model)

It starts from $60 for 150 day time minutes and 400MB data transfer. I think that is still too expensive. But for those of you who really want an iPhone, I guess it doesn't matter.
I wonder if the data plan from Rogers AT&T will be comparable to the plan from US AT&T. You know how data plans can be very pricey.
