The University of B.C. is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the safe recovery of $2 million worth of artworks by iconic B.C. artist Bill Reid.
A dozen pieces of jewelry by Reid, 11 of them gold, were stolen from the Museum of Anthropology at UBC sometime on the night of May 23, along with three pieces of gold Mexican jewelry. University and museum officials fear that the items could be melted down for the gold they contain or wind up in the hands of an unscrupulous collector. Will they be recovered by Aug 2008?

It shouldn't be a simple YES/NO questions. However, as most of us voted NO, I would answer NO as well :p
Perhaps a collector hired someone to steal them. It's hard to know the trace and get them back.
