Twitter is one of the fastest growing startup to gain popularity in a short time. Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows users to send updates (otherwise known as tweets) which are text-based posts, ranging up to 140 characters long.
In late April 2008, some sources reported that due to downtime related to scaling problems, Twitter would abandon Ruby on Rails as their web framework and start from scratch with PHP or Java. The web app is strangely addictive for all ages. Will it be acquired soon? http://twitter.com/

However (that's why I predicted 40:60) it might be that its founders also realize they are sitting on a "hip for now" product, and would seek to sell it, even cheaply, to some sucker.
On the Internet, if you can build traffic on a web site, then you can put a price tag on it. So, as long as Twitter can still maintain its traffic, then I guess it will still worth something.
