When we talk about next-gen video game console, we no longer talk about ps3, xbox 360 or Wii. We have to look into the future and talk about PS4, Xbox 720, and Wii 2.0.

Is it too early to predict the next-gen? Maybe. But it is about time we have some announcement on what is coming next from Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo.

Here is the deal. We will predict which next-gen console will come first. We will only consider a console coming if it is officially announced. Please note, the actualy products name might be different from what are listed here, but you get the idea.

    Yes, though I don't believe that any consoles will be confirmed by mid 2009, the most likely of the three is Microsoft, to create buzz in the popular realm with a flagship title and introduce an improved Live system that some hardcore gamers have been clamoring for. Nintendo will be content to sit back on its laurels of popular success and Virtual Console titles while Sony will continue along with expanding Blu-ray and using its established market share. Microsoft might feel like they have the most to prove in being the youngest of the three, competing to lure away an ever-expanding set of "gamers" from the more established console companies.

    We may, however, hear more about the DS and PSP...

    I agree with freeman - I think mid 2009 is too early for an official announcement.

    Wii is doing really well, and is selling a lot of accessories, so I don't see Nintendo fixing what isn't broken. PS3 sale is helped by the Blu-ray victory, so maybe Sony would also hold things off... the only company who may try a little harder is Microsoft, because it is being KILLED in the market by the other two.

    I can see Microsoft making the first move.

    Even though I am the author of this topic, I still think it is a bit early to make the next-gen console announcement before mid 2009. What do you think?
