Blizzard Entertainment just announced they have 10 million subscriber. After doing some math, we are talking about 1.8 billion revenue annually on War of Warcraft subscription alone, not including sales of this games and older games.

    Why the hell would they? Going public is only of benefit to a company when it needs a quick cash infusion to put into development or expansion. In effect, you're selling off ownership of the company profits in return for a job, a chance of a pay rise and if you keep some of the shares, an increase in the value of said shares. You're gambling that the value of the shares you keep will be more than the value you give away.
    Blizzard is making mucho mullo. They don't need to expand. They need time to think up/research the next big craze.

    Vitual World is going to be the next big thing, so they say. I am hoping Blizzard can come up with a World of Starcraft. I will be the first one to sign up as their beta tester.
