Joe Biden, who is set to make his debut as the Democratic vice-presidential candidate in Denver tomorrow night, today reflected the high expectations generated by the prospect of a Barack Obama presidency, describing the election as the most important the Democrats have faced since the 1930s.

Jim Webb is a good choice - Obama definitely needs a white VP.

    Isn't Colin Powell a republican?

Anyway, of the names listed here, I think there is but a remote chance that Hilary Clinton would want to be Obama's sidekick. John Edwards has ran for the presidential nomination so many times and is basically a "has-been" now. To be consistent with Obama's message of "change," I think he will seek someone out of the ordinary - maybe another visible minority, maybe a woman, maybe an environmentalist, maybe a gay activist... something like that.
