What is ZiiTrend?
Multitouch hyped, then cut from Windows 7
Tempus ( Score Rank: #27 based on predictions in the last 30 days ) Tempus  |  will close on 01-Jan-2010 (479 days from now)
Microsoft has demoed a multitouch interface for its "real-soon-now" windows 7 this week.

This prediction says that like WinFS for Longhorn/Vista, multitouch will be hyped up as a great part of windows 7, but ultimately cut before release and not part of the actual windows 7 when it ships.

(since ZiiTrend only allows 2 years into the future, there is a third option in case windows 7 has not yet shipped on the closing date, so we don't yet know if it has been cut or not)

I think Win7 will be late. I think when it's released, multitouch will be included - I just think it'll be as buggy as Vista.

sadly. it may be more buggy than vista - unless it carries less feature than vista.

This is an easy one. Of course there will be delay.

Why would Microsoft not included multi-touch in win7? The technology is already developed for Win Surface. And Microsoft has been lack of innovation in their products lately. Unless they can come up some killer apps/features in Win7, I think the multi-touch input interface is here to stay.

The most likely outcome is that Win7 will be delayed. I still think Microsoft will want to give more room for people to upgrade to Vista.
