Microsoft decided to showcase its Surface Tabletop Computer at AT&T stores nation wide. But this machine is not for sale yet. Check it out:

Will you buy one for your living room in the future? I will close this prediction in a month and keep this casual. This prediction is just for fun.

If it bundles with some nice educational software for kids, it is very friendly as a furniture in my living room.

Wouldn't this furniture be too pricey for kids?

Nope. Waste of money, especially with the popularity of wiimote (and predicted wiimote clones) controllers.
The only really useful thing that surface tables do are multiple touch interfacing. There's already a hack to get wiimote IR sensors to do this. I predict that screen projector technology is going to become very cheap soon(ish) (Possibly something based on scanning Red-Green-Blue lasers), and simple (visible or IR) camera-based point-tracking will be quickly combined with this to get the same effect with more flexibility and cheaper cost. Surface Table Computers will be the new Vic20's of the 2000's.

I thought about the IKEA integration too. I suppose IKEA can push out a bunch of Surface-compatible table top furniture in different colors and styles. But I still cannot think of a reason to have a tabletop computer in the living room while I already have a Media Center PC for my TV. That's kind of redundant.

I got a idea though... will it possible to put one of these computer in most office's reception area. So guests can look up info, or check in using the computer? I know this is kind of stupid.

Beside screensaver, I cannot think of a useful app on Surface.

Yes, I always dream of getting online 24/7. That will make me one step closer to my goal. The next step is to invent a browser that works in my dream.
