    I love Linux, and am a keen user, but I just can't see global domination in less than 10 years, and probably more than 20. On the other hand, I don't think Apple is gonna take over anytime soon either. What I do see happening is the proliferation/continuation of several versions of Windows. Microsoft better get used to the idea of people still using XP for the next 4 years at least.

    My feeling about this is kinda 50/50. What Linux needs now is brand building. Hopefully, Ubuntu will have more resource in marketing, so even grandmas and grandpas know what Linux is.

    Although I am a big fan of Linux. I think the software world will almost always be dominated by commercial products, unless the product category has no room for new innovation. I admit OS products is getting very mature. But I can still see room for improvement.

    it is said that google will lunch an os that will compete with ms, if they're gonna do so, i recon there will be a good catfit (and hope they will use linux....)
