The latest status with iPhone 3G is that it can get jailbreak-ed, but not unlocked from AT&T. And it is kind of pointless to unlock the phone when you have signed 3 years contract with AT&T.
http://www.tgdaily.com/ht... If you are interested in how to jailbreak your iPhone 3G, check this out: http://blog.wired.com/gad... But still, I am sure a lot of users will want to buy an unlocked iPhone 3G so they don't have to sign the contract, and can go with another carrier. Let's predict if an iPhone 3G unlock software will get released in Q3 2008?
