What is ZiiTrend?
How will Digg's users react after being bought out?

The first post of the acquisition on Digg (http://digg.com/tech_news...) is full of SADness to see how the users reacted. If you are familiar with the culture on Digg, you should know how much we want it stay the same way. What do you think the community will become after the acquisition (in regardless of who the future owner is)?

My reaction is no reaction. Who ever buys out Digg will be smart enough not to change the existing culture. Since nothing much will change beside ownership, I will continue to use Digg like I always did. I am just a user, I only care about the community, not the site ownership.

The acquisition can be a good thing if it manages to increase the user base quickly. The Digg list should work even better if we have more people participating in each topic. However, the side effect is the upcoming will changes so fast that it won't be usable anymore.

Money can probably buy happiness of Kevin Rose, but not the Digg's community.

I will demand more new features from the new Digg owner. What features you ask? If I know, I would have been the founder of Digg.

Digg Less man. Actually it depends what the new culture is like. If the new users did everything the same as before, I don't see anything wrong with Digg being bought out.

To be honest, I like Digg be acquired since a big player is capable to bring the site to a new leave of service. Reviewing last few years of Digg, do you see any big change of doing business? The internet business cannot be running good for too many years. Competitors, like Yahoo, will copy and even launch a better idea. If there are new features, I will digg more !!

if the owner is Google, i will digg less.
since Google is likely the next boss, i will digg less.

In the long run, I think it is beneficial for Digg.com to have a more mainstream culture. But that transition is going to be extremely painful, for the current Digg fans of course, which unfortunately, I am one of them.
