How long will US Troops remain in Afghanistan?
black-shoulder ( Score Rank: User did not make predictions in the last 30 days ) black-shoulder  |  closed on 11-Oct-2008 (406 days ago)
Seven years ago, the world as we knew it changed forever. Terrorism was not a term we used to hear a lot in the news; Taliban is not an organization that many recognized, and countries such as Afghanistan are, for the bulk of the western public, only a name you would hear in geography classes...

But that was then, and this is now. The terrorist attack on September 11, 2001, caused the world to change drastically. Among the changes is a warfare that broke out in the country of Afghanistan. Much has been said about the deployment of troops over there, but the war continues.

When do you think US troops will completely pull out of Afghanistan?

Afghanistan is a very important strategic location in practically the middle of the northern hemisphere, so there are tonnes of reasons why USA would like to maintain a presence in Afghanistan. That said, I think the number casualties will place more and more pressure on the US administration to have their forces pulled.

I doubt the administration ever had any intention of pulling out from the Middle East. They are aware of every advantage they gain by building up bases there.

IMO one would truly believe that US would retreat from Afghanistan, including Obama, McCain, and Afghanistan.

Completely pull out? I don't think that's very likely. In terms of military strategy, it is important to have some troops remained in Afganistan.
