    Very interesting. Presumably this was one of the matters Pietersen needed to discuss with present coach Peter Moores before taking the job. Pietersen will not delve into details. “All I know is that it was canned and it was definitely something I wanted 100 per cent,” he says, “I think it is so important that the senior players run the show. They must show the youngsters how it is.

    With that kind of attitude, he will probably stay there for a long term.
