An HIV vaccine is a hypothetical vaccine against HIV, the etiological agent of AIDS. As there is no known cure for AIDS, the search for a vaccine has become part of the struggle against the disease. The urgency of the search for a vaccine against HIV stems from the AIDS-related death toll of over 25 million people since 1981. Indeed, in 2002, AIDS became the primary cause of mortality due to an infectious agent in Africa (UNAIDS, 2004). Therefore, a HIV vaccine is generally considered as the most likely, perhaps the only way by which the AIDS pandemic can be halted. However, after over 20 years of research, HIV-1 remains a difficult target for a vaccine. Therefore, a HIV vaccine is generally considered as the most likely, perhaps the only way by which the AIDS pandemic can be halted. Current research aims to develop safe, effective, accessible, preventive HIV vaccines for use throughout the world. Will the vaccine be done by 2010??

China are currently an estimated 700,000 people living with HIV in China, including about 75,000 AIDS patients. During 2005 around 31,000 people died from AIDS. These large numbers must be considered in the context of China's extremely large population which is estimated at around 1,300 million. Although UNAIDS reports that China’s HIV epidemic remains one of low prevalence overall (0.1%), there are pockets of high infection among specific sub-populations and there is danger of the epidemic spreading further into the general population.
There were many so-called AIDS villages in China. Villagers were infected while selling their blood in a poor-hygiene environment. So sad that the epidemic spread very quickly as villagers flocked to make quick money ><
It have to be done, too much people are doing because of that...
But as we all know, it's better to prevent than cure... So guys protect yourselves...
