cougar222 ( Score Rank: #20 based on predictions in the last 30 days ) cougar222  |  will close on 19-Jan-2009 (98 days from now)
Predict if Hillary will serve in Obama's cabinet, eg. as Secretary of State. This assumes Obama will win the election and be the next President. If he does, then this assumes he will not choose Hillary as the VP Candidate. This also assumes that he will nominate her as a head of a Department and that she will accept.

I stand by my assessment that Clinton is trying first and foremost to damage Obama, so that he loses against McCain and she can run again in 2012.

Joining with him, in whatever capacity, would mean she gives up her plans in this direction, because it takes away her greatest argument ("I told you so" aka "why didn't you pick me in the first place") for 2012.

While Clinton may think that, by not actively soliciting to assist Obama would give a very strong message to the Democrats that she is a sore loser (not to mention that she is flat-out lying in her post-election speech of assisting Obama to go straight into the White House), and that, in no way, will help her chances for 2012.

I think she has something to gain for actively seeking a role with the Obama team right now.

That's a lot of assumption to make, Cougar! :p

I think Obama will try to recruit Clinton to be her running mate first and foremost. The machine of Bill and Hill together will make up for some of the shortcomings in Obama's own campaign. Of course, Hillary is a reluctant second-in-command, but if she really still has aspirations to be the first female president of the U.S.A., maybe Obama's invitation isn't too unattractive either.

Because I think Obama will first try to recruit Clinton, I'd say "no" at this time.
