    I agree the primary focus will be on the declining economy. What is more important in everyone's mind besides not having enough money to spend in the next few years. Forget about global warming. No one cares about that when the economy is at stake.

    the main concerns should be directly related to the economy. so the expensive war and national debt will be the focus.

      let me break down my views in this way:

      - Climate Change: both the gov and industry are lack of incentive.
      - Education: long term problem ... so not an immediate pain
      - Globalization: are we pretty happy with importing Chinese products? and our employment is rather stable? .... so not an immediate pain
      - Immigration: it is a big concern for many residents in US, but less a focus for mainstream.
      - Universal Health Care: long term problem ... so not an immediate pain
      - US Economy: horrible
      - War on Terror / Iraq: a deep and expensive trap
