Google Supports Offline Gmail?
ceraldos ( Score Rank: #421 based on predictions in the last 30 days ) ceraldos  |  will close on 01-Apr-2009 (82 days from now)
When Google introduced Gmail in 2004, it was one of the first important web applications that used AJAX, but not in an excessive manner. Meanwhile, Yahoo and Microsoft released new versions of their mail services that tried to duplicate the familiar interface of a desktop mail client like Outlook

Google Gears, is software offered by Google that "enables more powerful web applications, by adding new features to your web browser." I love to see Google Gears will support Gmail so that we can run Gmail offline.

Will it happen?

I would say YES and before Aprtil.
If GReader has offline support why GMail (which apparently has more users) won't have it?

Google has introduced a new version of its Gmail client for mobile phones, making the application more responsive and providing offline support in case the user moves out of mobile coverage. Well .. for this prediction, we are concerned about running offline Gmail on a desktop app. I love to see how Gmail competes with Outlook.
