Today, Yahoo filed a presentation detailing its three-year financial plan that management gave to its board of directors in December, before Microsoft's unsolicited bid. Its rosy Three-Year Plan: increase revenues +73% by focusing on display ads, mobile, and better search. Do you think they will achieve the goal?

In reality, how many 3-year plans got executed successfully?! If Yahoo couldn't increase such revenue in the last 3 years, why should we expect Yahoo being able to increase its revenue 73% in the next 3 years? Especially when it is handled by the same management.

Search is simply a commodity, when will Yahoo realize it? Ya focus on revenue through strategically placing ad's -_-

Yahoo has been a sinking ship since the technology bubble bursts almost 10 years ago... can they bounce back somewhat? Perhaps... but a 73% increase in revenue doesn't sound possible...

(Just wondering though: how can this prediction close in 2 months if it is a three-year plan?)

Yeah, the result won't be known in 3 years. I guess it is okay because it is a "casual prediction", the little green icon thing above the title.

Better Search? Don't see it beating Google any time soon. Mobile ads? Maybe. And Yahoo is kind of behind in the Adsense type ad servering. It is not even available to Canadian publisher. Google has already made its Adsense international ages ago...

The management team wants to keep their job. They will say anything to do that.

perhaps just a written report for asking a higher bid from MS
