We are getting close to the election finally. The popularity gap between Barack Obama and John McCain has doubled from seven percent earlier this month to 14 percent, according to the Pew Research Center's latest voters poll published Tuesday. Gallup Poll on Wednesday indicated that Barack Obama held a significant lead over John McCain in both Gallup likely voter models -- by 5 points using the "traditional" model and by 8 points using the "expanded" model. Registered voters prefer Obama by 51% to 42%.

The Wednesday result is produced by encompassing Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday's interviewing.
