    G10 now is announced, it's the strongest digital camera i see in the small camera field.
    1/1.7-inch, -14.70 effective megapixels (-15.00 total megapixels)

    3.0-inch (low-temperature polycrystalline silicon TFT color LCD, Pure Color II LCD, -461,000 pixels, wide viewing angle)

    Rechargeable lithium-ion battery: NB-7L AC adapter kit: ACK-DC50 (sold separately)

    Please can anyone tell me where i can get hold of a manual for my canon G9 as i cannot use a lot of the settings on it.Also does anyone know how to put the camera back to the 9 shot setting as i changed something on it and now it only does the single shot(sorry i thought it was the G10until i just looked at it)!..I set the camera back to factory setting but still it doesn't work..

    Hi i have the G10 but cannot use a lot of the settings as i am new to more profesional type cameras.Does anyone know if i can get hold of a manual for this camera as the one supplied is only basic.Also does any one know how to return to 10 shots as only single shot can be made,i have set the camera back to factory settings too and still it doesnt work..many thanks

    Well I'd like a proper front grip,a better quality sensor,longer battery life,a better optical view finder with full info so you can use that all the time instead of the LCD which drains battery life, the ability to use ordinary AA batteries and a wider angle lens.

      Half of my wish list is pretty close to yours:
      - faster lens just like in the G2/G3 generation.
      - 28mm wide angle
      - better front grip
      - better quality sensor not more pixels
      But I don't think G10 will support AA batter, that is what the A-series is for. Also, I don't see Canon improving the viewfinder. If they make it too good, then it will take away the attractiveness of the D-SLR models.

    What I want is 28mm lense, no more megapixels, maybe a bigger sensor. As I am living in Netherlands I hope to hold the G10 in my hands while visiting Photokina in Köln. Last time G7 was something I had to get uses to it . I am still a G3-user.

      Same here man, I am still a G3 user myself. Don't find a need to upgrade yet. Maybe my next camera will be a D-SLR.

    what would be so cool really is to see the zoom control analog/manual on the knurled knob of the lens, giving us the "dslr" feel. I mean why not? its not like the lenses are interchangeable anyway

    Want i want for the G10 is a 28mm or even smaller (instead of 35 today) and a better optical visor (80% only today ...)
    and i want as soon ... if not here in may, i'll purchase the G9

    I want faster lens on G10 of course. The G series has worse lens now. I remember the G3-G5 generation has faster lens than what the G9 has now. Of course, the G9 body seems to be quite well built.

    btw, we don't need more megapixel. Just give us better lens and cleaner CCD.

      On top of the current feats, I'd love to see...
      - the vari-angle display
      - a faster lens like in G3
      - min. 28mm wide angle
      - better front grip/handle
      - better sensor - no more useless pixels
